New menu items at The Teahouse
Every month we try to add something new and delicious to our menu. Next month we'll be debuting two rare and highly sought-after teas. The first is a 2006 VINTAGE GREEN PU ERH. Hand-picked from ancient pu erh tea trees, this tea has a flowery honey flavor and a lingering sweetness. One of our favorites, you can enjoy this tea for 8-10 infusions.
We'll also be offering a great new Japanese green tea, HASHIRI SHINCHA, a 2013 first flush Japanese tea from the famous Moriuchi tea farm. Tea grown at this farm has received many awards and the farm has been selected as a tea supplier for the Emperor's palace. Shincha means "new tea" in Japanese and hashiri means “the first of the season”. It is the first of the first flush teas made from the very young leaves and buds of the tea plant that are picked by hand. This tea is characterized by its fresh aroma and sweetness.
We have two new sandwiches on the menu. The Tuscan is a panini made with roasted pork, wild mushrooms and fontina cheese. The Caprese is an Italian classic made with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomato and pesto.
For those of you with a sweet tooth, in May we will be offering classic Cannoli Siciliano, a crisp pastry tube filled with our house made sweet ricotta filling with one end dipped in pistachios and the other in shaved chocolate. We will also be offering three delicious flavors of biscotti -- classic almond, coconut macadamia, and lemon/cranberry/pistachio.
We anticipate we will have a license to serve wine and beer within the next couple of weeks. Our plan is to offer a few high quality reds and whites by the glass at very reasonable prices. Stay tuned for details.
