The Teahouseshop.com, offers only the best quality oolong teas, ranging from lightly to heavily oxidized and varying degrees of roasting. We source only the most exquisite oolongs from the Gaba oolong of Japan to the oolong teas of China's Anxi, Dan Cong, Wu Yi, and Yunnan regions. These teas are grown in diverse terrains, ranging from rich, fertile soils to high-elevation volcanic rocks, from mineral-rich soil and limestone to bamboo-forested hills, producing various flavors. All our premium, hand-blended oolong teas are available online or at our Teahouse location on Canyon Road in historic district of downtown Santa Fe, NM.
Oolong tea tree leaves are wilted in the sun and bruised to create partial oxidation. The oxidation process is brought to a stop by pan-roasting the leaves. Knowing how long to roast the leaves takes a high level of skill and experience. The combination of oxidation and roasting varies from batch to batch.
