Rooibos differs from our other tea offerings in that it is a member of the legume family of plants and is used to make a tisane or herbal infusion. Rooibos is harvested exclusively in South Africa along the Western Cape, but the rooibos herb is appreciated worldwide for its delicious taste and therapeutic and medicinal properties.
We currently offer seven varieties of this naturally caffeine-free tea. Rooibos teas have a high level of antioxidants which are more present in the unoxidized (green) rooibos. Rooibos teas produce very low tannin levels in comparison to black tea or green tea leaves. Tannins can affect metabolism by decreasing absorption of certain crucial nutrients such as iron and protein.
Our rooibos offerings range from blends of sweet marzipan and creamy, fresh orange flavors to rich carob truffle, calendula, and sunflower. Our soft-tasting rooibos tea infusions produce lively tangy aromas and taste pleasantly sweet and aromatic.
